8mm, 16mm, and 35mm: Film formats in which the filmstrip is either 8, 16 or 35 mm wide. 8mm is traditionally a home movie format: there are standard 8mm and Super 8 formats, the difference being that Super 8 has a larger image area. 35mm is the standard film format today; 16mm is more economical and favored in television.

Aging: The process of making new materials look older.

Art department: The crew members who work under the direct supervision of the production designer. Key roles include supervising art director, art directors, set decorator, scenic artists, construction co-ordinator, etc.

Art director: Formerly the head of the art department; now the person who works for the production designer to execute the design of the film. ...
