Miniatures vs. Computer Graphics
Daylight
The last big project I worked on at Illusion Arts was the Holland Tunnel destruction sequence for the film Daylight. It is an excellent example of classic miniature effects that are designed to integrate seamlessly with real-world photography. Visual effects masters Bill Taylor, Syd Dutton, and Academy award winner Grant McCune, of Star Wars fame, helmed the visual effects.
I was very privileged to do setup documentation and standby camera operation throughout this project, assisting Bill Taylor and the crew in executing the cinema- tography.
