7. Organizing Clips in the Browser

The Browser is the window you use to organize and access clips, audio files, graphics, and offline clips—all the media elements you use in your project. It also includes the project’s sequences—FCP objects that contain your edits. The Browser performs these organizing tasks on your project’s virtual clips and sequences—although Browser items look like files on your computer Desktop, Browser items are references to media files, not the files themselves. It’s very important to remember that copying, moving, or deleting a clip in the Browser does not affect that clip’s source media file on disk.
