Introduction

This chapter discusses fundamental concepts of entrepreneurial venturing and entrepreneurial finance that inform our discussion in subsequent chapters. While these two topics are often discussed separately, for our purposes, they are complementary. Entrepreneurs express their business ideas by forming new ventures, with the venture also a legal entity for attracting and receiving private equity (PE) investment.
