7.7 FINITE ELEMENT SOLUTION OF STOKES FLOW EQUATIONS
In the preceding sections, the FEM formulations of various types of partial differential equations such as Laplace equation, Poisson equation and Helmholtz equations were considered. In this section, the simplest form of two-dimensional steady-state flow called Stokes flow or creeping flow, which has a large number of applications in civil, mechanical, metallurgy and chemical engineering is considered.
