On the cusp of a new age

I always want to understand the nature of the argument and ideally the answer up-front, as without it I won’t want to invest my time and money in buying and reading a book which may not go anywhere or whose conclusion I instinctively disagree with. Having read the introduction and first chapter, it is clearly well written, but I only just understand the question you’re trying to answer, and have no clue as to the answer.

I like it because it eschews the pretence of knowing and having an answer, which is, of course, a large part of the problem (or predicament, since the whole problem - solution language isn’t helpful).
