Abstract

This chapter presents an introduction to shale oil and its effects on energy resources. Moreover, this chapter provides useful information about types of shale oil reservoir fluids along with some basic scientific concepts regarding genesis of liquids in shale pores. This chapter describes the methods of shale oil extraction.
