There are many methods used by foam artisans when scaling a pattern. The three methods that will be discussed in this chapter are the grid, the copy machine, and the experienced eye.

Of the three, the grid and copy machine methods are the most accurate to use. However, with experience and a practiced eye, the foam artisan can achieve the approximate size more quickly by cutting out the need for scaling.
