Preface

The goal of this book is to introduce the reader to the different ways of developing patterns for foam fabrication. There are many different kinds of foams and though there is a brief mention of rigid foams in Chapter 1, the focus is primarily in the area of those foams that are flexible. In the process of writing I decided to expand into the areas of design and finishing techniques to show a little of the preparation and follow-through that is needed to help facilitate the process. Hopefully, with the addition of the characters “Scout” and “the Professor”, all of this will help flesh-out and provide a bit more depth to a somewhat dry subject.
