Epilogue

This book has presented certain perspectives and viewpoints on select themes and subthemes of FDI—The Indian experience. It is indeed, a very daunting task for any developing economy to formulate coherent FDI policy even when they liberalize and undertake macroeconomic reforms. Substantial time is required to formulate laws and regulations and put appropriate institutions in place for implementing FDI policy as an integral part of public policy. India did launch economic reforms in 1991 which followed a series of measures for re-ordering and creating newer institutions for public policy implementation.
