10.1. Types of extensions

Practically every aspect of Fireworks can be customized or extended. If you browse to the Configuration folder of your Fireworks installation, you'll see a number of folders that support most of the features of the program that you use on a daily basis (such as autoshapes, patterns, and textures). Any of these folders may be updated and modified by third-party extensions. Let's take a quick look at the most common types of extensions.
