Chapter 2. GENERATING XML CONTENT

Before you can start working with XML content in Flash and Flex applications, you'll need to create the XML documents that you want to use. These can be stand-alone physical XML files or content from a database. Remember that an XML document may simply be a stream of information generated electronically.

The easiest way to create XML content is to save a text file with an .xml extension. You can also use a web server to create either a physical XML document or a stream of XML information from a database. You can even generate the content from existing data in another software package such as Microsoft Office.
