Final Cut Pro has a number of tools that allow you to automate many of the most common color grading and color matching chores. With a single click you can neutralize a clip’s color cast and maximize an image’s contrast. With two clicks you can match the look and feel of several clips in your Timeline.

Don’t worry; Final Cut Pro also provides you with the ability to manually fine-tune almost every aspect of each shot. You can adjust a clip’s color balance and contrast across the tonal range—shadows, midtones, and highlights. We’ll explore manual adjustments later in this chapter, but for now let’s focus on speed and ease.
