Handling challenges within the team

Leading successful teams is not always plain sailing. It would be very pleasant and easy if this was the case. However, at any stage of its development a team can provide the leader with a number of challenges. These can be any of the following: conflict; lack of commitment to the task or objectives; communication breakdowns; or personality clashes. While not ideal, these need not be harmful or damaging if you are able to handle them in the right way. The thing to avoid is doing nothing and hoping the problem will go away.
