Membranes, adsorbent materials and solvent-based materials for syngas and hydrogen separation

S.J. Doong,     UOP, a Honeywell Company, USA

Abstract:

Advanced H2/syngas separation technologies have the potential to improve the cost and efficiency of future power plants for H2 production and/or CO2 capture. In this chapter, we will first present potential membrane materials used for syngas or H2/CO2 separation. Membranes with H2-permselective property will be discussed first, followed by CO2-permselective membrane materials. We will then review the recent developments in adsorbent materials for |H2 separation. Solvent-based materials will also be briefly covered. Finally, future trends and further source information will be commented on ...
