This chapter discusses some important surface modification techniques employed for improved functional behavior of textiles. Through technological innovations, the textile industry has experienced rapid development with miscellaneous new applications. Some of these techniques are briefly introduced. The behavior of these functional textiles is strongly governed by the chemical and physical characteristics of their surface.
