Chapter 11: Merge Replication – the Subscription

In Chapter 10, we created a publication to support our merge replication setup. Our next step is to create a subscription, just like we did for transactional replication. To do this, we first need to designate a SQL Server instance to be the Subscriber. As with transactional replication, any instance on which a subscription is defined is considered a Subscriber, and the database that the published changes are applied to is called the subscription database.
