26. Looking Forward

Where does fuzzing go from here? The field has already begun migrating from the academic and underground worlds and is being embedded in enterprise test beds and throughout the SDLC. Given the increasing acceptance of fuzzing among software developers, it’s not surprising to see commercial tools being developed to take advantage of this powerful methodology. In this chapter we look at where fuzzing is today and peer into the crystal ball to see if we can determine where it will be in the near future.
