Envision mixing as a performance

With longer and longer game development cycles, game mixing can last for months or years. Mixing a game is like running a marathon, but it is one that is made of many sprints along the way. While mixing games is a very collaborative process (any sounds or systems being added or iterated on during the game development cycle can ultimately change the amplitude of a source, impacting the overall mix one way or another), one person needs to ‘own’ the mix to ensure a holistic consistent sounding player experience.
