Connecting the head to the torso may seem like a simple task. All we need to do is weld the vertices, create bridges, and extrude a few edges, right? Well, not exactly. Our head has more divisions than the torso, so we can’t do a straight connect without creating creases or triangles. What we need to do is reroute some of the edge loops back into the head, which will reduce or even eliminate any triangles in our model.
I must stress that this is just one way of doing this. Please feel free to follow your own path if you wish.
To make things easier, first remove half of the head and body, just leaving the Ogre’s left side, as shown in Figure 5.64.
