About the authors

Hazel Glynne has taught for many years in a wide range of schools, in the UK, the USA and higher education, and has worked for the BBC. She is currently a literacy consultant for a local authority, which involves supporting schools and training teachers. She has published educational articles and materials and written scripts for radio.

Amanda Snowden is, first and foremost, a primary teacher, but she has been a language support teacher, a special needs advisory teacher, a director of a reading project and a primary literacy consultant. At present she works for a local authority, managing and developing family learning programmes in partnership with schools, children’s centres and libraries.
