Gasification has been considered as a potential thermo-chemical method of conversion to effectively utilize the carbon (organic content) present in the feedstock. Preparation and handling methods of some of the potential feedstocks (i.e., coal, petroleum residue, biomass, and municipal solid waste (MSW) to produce the synthetic gas) for various applications are discussed.
