acceptable use policy (AUP)  This is a document detailing a process that governs what company employees are allowed and not allowed to do.

access point (AP)  Access points are used in wireless networks and allow devices to connect to each network. Attackers often try to mimic them and lure victims to connect to fake access points, for example, by launching an evil twin attack.

Active Directory (AD)  A type of Microsoft service used for user authentication and authorization across a Windows network.

Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)  This is a protocol that allows mapping of IP addresses to hardware (MAC) addresses, for example, mapping IP address 10.10.10.10 to hardware address AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF.
