Addressing Gender Equality in Music Production
Current Challenges, Opportunities for Change, and Recommendations
INTRODUCTION
Although music production encompasses a broad selection of disciplines, job roles, practices, and methodologies, it is arguably one of the least gender-diverse occupations. The ratio of male to female music producers is estimated to be 47 to 1 (Smith et al. 2019).
