GEOTECHNICAL INPUT IN PAVEMENT DESIGN

This chapter describes the geotechnical input needed for pavement design based on AASHTO 1993 methodology, as well as AASHTO ME pavement design methodology. Most of the geotechnical inputs required for other pavement design methods are also covered in this chapter.

2.1 GEOTECHNICAL INPUTS IN AASHTO 1993 PAVEMENT DESIGN METHODOLOGY

Geotechnical inputs required for AASHTO 1993 pavement design methodology are listed in Table 2.1, and they are briefly discussed in the following subsections, separated based on the type: flexible versus rigid.
