The Rest of Your Workflow

After importing and organizing, and making your selects, you’ll have a group of raw files that you’re ready to pass through the rest of your workflow, and that’s what the rest of this book is about. From here, your workflow will proceed as follows:

Process your images. As you’ve learned, raw files must be processed using raw conversion software—in our case, Photoshop Camera Raw. Camera Raw takes your raw file and produces a “normal” file—a Photoshop document, or a JPEG or TIFF file. When performing your raw conversion, you’ll execute a fair amount of tone and color correction, and will then save out the finished file. Your original raw image will remain untouched.
