The Split Toning Tab

At some point, you’ve probably seen a black-and-white image that has been toned. The most common toning technique is sepia toning, wherein an image is toned with a tan color to make it look like an antique photo. With sepia toning, a black-and-white image no longer goes from black to white, but from a very dark sepia color to a very light sepia.

With the Split Toning tab, you can perform a toning effect that allows you to apply one color tone to the highlights in your image and another to the shadows (Figure 5.35).
