Exercise 5.1

We are going to apply several commands presented in this chapter to a metal plate with several bolts:

  1. Open the drawing EXERCISE-CH5-START.DWG.
  2. Measure the diameter of the outer circle, by applying the GETDISTANCE command (alias DI) and selecting two opposite quadrants. Result should be 200. Another possibility could be applying the GETPROPERTIES command (alias LI).
  3. Select, without command, the inner circle. Apply the PROPERTIES palette (Ctrl + 1) and modify the radius to 30.
  4. We want the area of the metal plate, that is, between the outer and inner circles. Apply the GETAREA command (alias AA), set the Add option, Entity option and select the outer circle. The command displays: Area = 31415.927, Perimeter = 628.319, Total area = 31415.927 ...
