The OrientDB extended SQL is a proprietary extension of the SQL language. It seems similar to SQL, but it actually is not ANSI SQL compliant. However, if you know SQL you will be comfortable with it. The simplest way in which we can interact with an OrientDB server is through a command-line console and using the SQL. So let's start with it.
Be sure to have your OrientDB server up and running, and connect to it through the console, using the root credentials. Remember: the root password is stored in the XML config file:
