Summary

In this chapter, we have seen how we can use the standard mechanism, WSUS, to keep all of our VDI deployments up to date with the latest patches and updates. We have been able to monitor our deployment with some basic counters and the BPA in Server Manager, and we have a basic understanding of how System Center can help us manage and automate VDI. We also saw how the VDT enabled us to get a deeper insight into problems that might occur. Now that we have all the foundations in place for a secure and reliable VDI, we need to turn our attention to managing our users, and in the next chapter, we'll see how we can manage them and their profiles and settings, whether they are just using VDI or a mix of VDI and real desktops.
