Creating and configuring a Hyper-V cluster

Configuring a Hyper-V cluster in Windows Server 2016 includes the following steps:

  1. First, we will run the cluster validation tool to ensure that the Nano nodes are configured correctly to create a Hyper-V cluster. The cluster validation runs to test and verify that the configuration appears suitable to successfully function as a failover cluster.

Use the following PowerShell command to confirm a set of servers for use as a Hyper-V cluster:

$Nodes="NANOSRV-HV01","NANOSRV-HV02","NANOSRV-HV03","NANOSRV-HV04"Test-Cluster-Node$Nodes-IncludeInventory,Network,"System Configuration"-Verbose

The output report should look something like this (see Figure 9):
