Performing operations on a database

You can perform various operations on the database such as import and export of data and add, remove, or edit operations. The following subsections explain the steps to perform these operations.

Importing data into a database

There are several ways to insert data using SQL developer, using SQL Workshop, and using an application with data loading capability developed using Oracle Application Express. This subsection covers data import using SQL Workshop. The following steps are required to import the data in the Cloud database from a text file, spreadsheet or XML file. For this example we are uploading a CSV (Comma Separated Values) file having four comma separated fields (Name, Post, Description, Extension):
