While this chapter had nothing specific for the Cubieboard, it did teach some basic administration tasks and used them to set up some basic but useful services for a home server. While there are many more interesting services to think of, such as a DHCP server (
ics), a printer server (
cups), or a DNS server (
bind), on top of that, one can build a device and incorporate it with the web server and control a light switch via a web page.
The next chapter will work on upgrading the bootloader and the kernel, two reasonably easy tasks.
