Chapter 9. Giving Your Audio Some Depth: Applying Effects

Audio effects let you enhance your audio tracks, manipulate sounds into others, and basically let you make your recording much more than just a voice recording. In this chapter, we'll use effects to make your project sound clearer, crisper, and enhanced for rich sound. However, you can do much more. Audacity has over 20 effects that come as standard in the software. Some of these we've used already, such as Amplify, Fade In or Out, and Noise Removal. We'll review effects at a basic level, and explore even more effects—learn how to use them, and learn how they can help to make your recordings sound even better.
