Tutorial: Using a Service Data Object

This lab exercise gives you a brief introduction to using Service Data Objects in an SOA Composite for accessing and manipulating data.

To illustrate the usage of SDOs, you first use ADF-BC to create view objects that are made available as SDOs through an ADF-BC service. You then use this service to retrieve data from the database using the primary key of the table and then subsequently update the retrieved row.

You add a new step in the approveLargeOrder BPEL process to enrich the purchase order data with the name of the customer using the customer identifier in the purchase order. At the end of the processing, you update the customer data about the last purchase order processed.
