Other APIs

One thing is entirely certain—there is no shortage of APIs in CM. In the previous section, we described at some length the APIs available directly at the CE layer. There are many other APIs provided by other CM components and layers and add-on products. We refer to some of those as boutique APIs because of their highly specialized natures. Others are relatively full-featured and general purpose. We cannot describe all of them in this space, but we will briefly describe a few that are general purpose, widely used, or both.
