Chapter 7. Make Your Content Easy to Find

Making your content easy to find is as important as making it easy to read. Some argue that findability is more important. I think readability and findability are equally important.

When I say easy to find, I don’t mean easy for search engines to find, as in search engine optimization (SEO). I’m talking about making sure that your global readers can find the site they need, in the language they need, in as little time and with as little frustration as possible.

In general, if I am based in France and I navigate to a website that has a presence in France, I automatically see the French site (a URL that ends with .fr). Same for Germany (where the URLs end with .de) and for all other international sites ...
