Introduction

In 2014, the whole world came to know the town of Ferguson. Where it was within the realm of the continental United States, which state the town could be found in, what geographic region it inhabited were sidebars that were rarely mentioned and information that was not relevant to most news reports. Ferguson, a town in the North County region of the state of Missouri, just minutes from Illinois and the Mississippi River, was not in need of any further nomenclature. It would be known by one word, the city name, on lips around the world.
