An asset that will stand you and the business in good stead as it goes through growth is quality people. As expressed in many of the earlier pages of this book, this doesn’t necessarily mean people you hire full-time.
Mentors can play an invaluable role and there are two types you’re after:
1. The sounding board – this is the trusted contact who listens as you talk, enabling you to come to your own conclusion and decisions.
2. The active adviser – this is the entrepreneur who has been there and done it and wants to help and advise based on their own experience.
Find your ideal mentor(s) through active networking. Andy Law is a proven entrepreneur and mentor and has advice for business owners looking for their perfect match.
