Implementing Multiple Terrain Effects

You can implement a changing terrain-based weather effect system in at least four ways:

  • Animation Frames: You can use animation frames—for example, similar to how multiple animation frames might be used to show a spaceship tilting to the left or right. You can use the same process for displaying different tiles at different times. The one consideration for animation frames is that, by default, they are set to play the frames automatically. So, if you have one animation for summer and another for snow, it will skip all of the animation frames and display the last frame, which in this example would be the snow image.
