Identifying a Unit with an Officer

Once you have decided to implement officers within your army, you need some way of identifying them on the battlefield. Some possibilities are:

  • Officer’s head is the unit graphic: Rather than have a normal unit graphic for a unit (for example, tank, plane, or logo), you could have a particular officer’s head silhouette. This shows the player where the officer is on the map. You can see an example of this in Figure 11.3.
