In the examples of the first few chapters of this book, you learned how to embed maps on web pages, and in the process you saw some of the members of the
google.maps library, which provides all the functionality for setting up and manipulating a map at the client through JavaScript. This library is part of the script you include in every page that contains a Google map, and it exposes its functionality through different objects.
