Editing Strokes in Style Builder

With your template document filled out, you're ready to bring it back into the Style Builder program. Now you get to have fun tweaking the appearance of the hand-drawn edges. To load the template file, choose File → Load Template (File → Open Template on a Mac). Navigate to the folder with your template and load it.

Make sure you're on the Strokes tab; the Style Builder window looks like Figure 15-6. When Style Builder loads the template file, it assumes that you want to use these new strokes to create a new style. So it automatically loads the strokes into the sets in the upper-right corner and applies the effect to the preview image at lower-right corner. On the left side, you see the sample strokes at top, with the strokes from your template file underneath.

Figure 15-6. When you load your template, the strokes appear in the Strokes tab, and SketchUp applies them to the model in the Preview pane. Use the Preview tools to change your view of the model and to see how the strokes change with the view.

Changing the Stroke Settings

Click the Settings tab and type a name, such as Pen and Ink, in the "Style name" box. This name appears in the Styles window. You also use the Settings tab to modify the look of the strokes.
