iGoogle and other useful products


This chapter focuses on the world of iGoogle – a free service from Google to allow users to create personalized web presences for their own use. At the beginning of iGoogle the pages had banner theme images at the top. Users, including some libraries, used these for branding, but they were replaced early in 2012. Somewhat more complicated is the iGoogle gadget, which has been used by hundreds of libraries to add things such as search widgets to their online catalogs.
