Granular Models: Architectures and Development
Models are sources of knowledge. Systems are perceived from different points of view and various variables are used in their modeling. In modeling, different levels of specificity of the underlying phenomena are focused on. An ultimate objective is to build a general model, which delivers a holistic view of the system while reconciling some differences and quantifying the still existing diversity of views conveyed by various models. This naturally builds a hierarchical structure where the general model forms the upper level of the hierarchy.
