Built by Trajan’s son Hadrian (76–138), one of
the greatest architectural patrons of all time,
the Pantheon is one of the most celebrated ar-
chitectural masterpieces of Western civilization.
It also has one of the finest examples of early
Roman inscriptions ever to be integrated to an
architectural structure.
