In 2002, the Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA)
midtown location in New York City underwent
extensive renovation and expansion, reopening
in 2004. During this two-year period, a portion
of MoMA’s world-renowned collections were
placed on display in what was dubbed MoMA
QNS, a former Swingline staple factory in Long
Island City, Queens.
