Building, designed by Jan Willem Eduard Buijs
(1889–1961) and completed in The Hague,
Netherlands, in 1928, was constructed for a
workers’ cooperative by that name and designed
to house its offices, shops, product storage, and
dental clinic.
Buijs, a Dutch architect, was raised in
Surakarta, Indonesia, and returned to the
