animated lighting displays on its facade with
more than 40,000 feet (12 km) of multicolored
neon tubing.
“Vegas Vic” is the unofficial name for the
towering cowboy erected in 1951 on the exterior
of the Pioneer Club. This 40-foot- (12.2 m) high
animated neon sign, designed with humanlike
characteristics of a waving arm, moving ciga-
rette, and an audio recording of “Howdy Podner”
