The 1964 New York World’s Fair was the third
major world’s fair to be held in New York City
and hailed as “universal and international.” Al-
though it was best remembered as a showcase
of mid-twentieth-century American culture
and technology, twenty-four countries such
as Spain, Vatican City, Japan, Mexico, Sweden,
Austria, Denmark, Thailand, Philippines, Greece,
and Pakistan also had presences at the fair.
